The story of At the Moulin Rouge: The Dance

At the Moulin Rouge, the Dance is an oil painting of 1890 and the second of Toulouse-Lautrec's graphic paintings of the Moulin Rouge cabaret, which opened in Paris in 1889. An inscription on the back reads 'The instruction of the new ones by Valentine the Boneless', so the man beside the dancer is the dancer Valentin le desosse. It hangs in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
