The story of The Peasant Dance

The panel was painted around 1567, close in date and in size (114 by 164 cm) to The Peasant Wedding, and the two may have been conceived as a pair. It is unsigned and undated. Napoleon had it taken to Paris in 1808, and it was returned in 1815.
