The story of The Annunciation (Prado, Madrid)
Painted in the 1420s for a side altar of the convent of San Domenico, Fiesole, where Fra Angelico was a friar. It stayed there until 1611, when it was sold to the King of Spain and taken to Madrid; it is now in the Prado. It is one of his best-known works.
