The story of Woman at Her Toilette

Woman at her Toilette was executed between 1875 and 1880 and first exhibited at the fifth Impressionist exhibition in 1880, alongside works by Cezanne, Renoir and Pissarro. It is one of several paintings Morisot made on the theme of women dressing, applying make-up and arranging their hair, based on experiences she could witness as a bourgeois woman.
