The story of Saint Sebastian
This Saint Sebastian (tempera on canvas, 255 x 140 cm) was made around 1480 and was originally hung in the Sainte-Chapelle at Aigueperse in the Auvergne; recent research suggests it may have been made for the 1481 marriage of Chiara Gonzaga and Gilbert de Bourbon-Montpensier. The Louvre acquired it in 1910.
